Our store offers a diverse range of products, including an extensive selection of greeting cards, magazines, unique giftware as well as NSW Lotteries. In addition to our physical store, we connect with our customers through our online platform, featuring some of our most popular brands. We are looking for a new team member who is passionate about retail and customer engagement to join our friendly team.
The Role: Retail Assistant
As a Retail Assistant at Greenhills Newsagency, you will be the face of our business and a key part of our friendly team. Your primary focus will be on creating a positive and welcoming experience for every customer who walks through our doors.
This role is about more than just processing sales; it’s about upholding our reputation as a community-focused, family-owned business by providing exceptional service and maintaining a well-presented store.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Customer Service: Greeting and assisting customers in a warm and professional manner, answering queries, and helping them find the perfect product.
- Sales & Transactions: Accurately operating our point-of-sale (POS) system, including handling cash, EFTPOS, and gift voucher transactions.
- Lottery Services: Assisting customers with the sale of NSW Lotteries products (full training will be provided).
- Product Knowledge: Developing a strong understanding of our product range, including magazines, stationery, greeting cards, and giftware, to provide helpful recommendations.
- Stock Management: Assisting with receiving, unpacking, pricing, and merchandising new stock to ensure the store is always well-stocked and visually appealing.
- Store Presentation: Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and organisation throughout the store, including restocking shelves, creating attractive displays, and general housekeeping.
- Team Collaboration: Working closely with fellow team members to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the newsagency.
